Statesville is the county seat of Iredell County, north of Mooresville and Troutman. Southern Style Turf & Design serves Statesville as a mobile business. We don't have an office in Statesville; we come to your home, assess the property in person and complete the work with our own crew.
Statesville has older established neighborhoods near downtown and plenty of newer development and larger lots around the edges of town, so the jobs here range from full landscape installs to drainage and grading on bigger properties.
Statesville sits on rolling Piedmont ground with the red clay soil common across Iredell County. Summer brings heavy thunderstorms that dump a lot of water quickly, and long hot stretches that dry the clay until it cracks. That wet-dry swing is hard on lawns and plantings and is one reason irrigation and good bed preparation matter here.
On larger lots, runoff crosses more ground before it reaches the house, and surface drainage has to be planned across the whole property. In older neighborhoods, it's usually aging drain pipes, settled grades or downspouts discharging too close to the foundation.

It depends on how you use the yard and how much you've invested in lawn and plantings. Clay dries hard in summer, and new plantings especially need consistent water. We cover options on our irrigation page.
