How Southern Style Turf & Design Got Started
Southern Style Turf & Design was built on a simple belief: Lake Norman homeowners deserve a contractor who shows up, does the work right, and stands behind it.
Josh Solano grew up around construction and outdoor work, developing an eye for quality craftsmanship early. After years of hands-on experience in landscaping, hardscaping, and site work across the greater Charlotte region, he saw a clear gap in the Lake Norman market — homeowners with beautiful properties were being let down by contractors who overpromised, underdelivered, and disappeared when problems came up.
In February 2023, Josh founded Southern Style Turf & Design in Denver, NC with a straightforward approach: give every client an honest assessment, a written quote they can count on, and a finished project they're proud of. No subcontractors. No runaround. The same crew that shows up for the estimate builds the project.

Josh Solano is the owner and founder of Southern Style Turf & Design, a locally owned landscaping and hardscaping contractor working across the Lake Norman area. He brings hands-on experience in landscape construction, drainage, retaining walls, grading, hardscaping, and irrigation — with a particular specialty in solving the drainage and slope challenges unique to Lake Norman properties.
